Step#1 Design & Prototyping
Begin with a clear and detailed design of the jewellery piece, usually created by a designer using digital tools or traditional sketching. Once the design is finalized, create a prototype, often using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and 3D printing or wax carving. This prototype serves as the basis for understanding the look and feel of the final product.
Step#2 Mold Creation
Once the prototype is perfected, create a master mold, which will be used to cast multiple copies of the jewellery piece. Some examples of the mold materials are the rubber, silicone, or metal depending on the production method and scale. The precision and quality of the mold directly affect the final product’s consistency and detail. Proper storage and maintenance of molds are vital, as it can deteriorate over time.
Step#3 Casting & Setting
With the mold ready, initiate the casting process. Metals like silver, gold, or brass are melted and poured or injected into the mold to produce the jewellery’s primary structure. After the metal has cooled and solidified, it’s removed from the mold and cleaned to remove any imperfections or excess metal. If the design includes gemstones, this is the stage where they’re set into the piece, ensuring they are secure and well-aligned.
Step#4 Finishing & Polishing
This can include filing to smooth out any rough edges, buffing to create a uniform surface, and polishing to give it a brilliant shine. Rexjewel incorporate advanced finishing techniques, such as rhodium plating on white gold pieces, can enhance durability and appearance. With the goal to ensure each piece looks pristine, reflecting the brand’s commitment to quality.
Step#5 Quality Control & Packaging
Before the jewellery reaches the market, it must undergo stringent quality control checks. This step ensures that every piece meets the set standards in terms of design accuracy, material quality, and overall finish. Any piece with defects or inconsistencies is either corrected or discarded. Once approved, the jewellery is carefully packaged, often with branded materials, ready for distribution and sale.
